I want to do a bridge in a cave, like in every RPG I know from Pokemon to Final Fantasy IV, where you can cross over it like a normal bridge, but can also cross UNDER it if you're on a lower elevation. Is there any easy way to do this, without any kind of scripting?

Yeah, and if no one answers this by the time I get time, then I'll explain it all thoroughly for you. It's not as hard as you would think.

before entering the bridge place an event(below hero, touched by hero), that makes variable bridge up cross = 1. Then on the bridge event, make it when variable bridge up cross=1, place below hero, and you can cross it. place that event on both sides of the ridge. then, when you are below the bridge, place another event (below hero, touched by hero), and switches the variagble up cross =0 then in the bridge event place a new page when the variable=0 make it above hero, and you'll pass below it. its simple =o

I appreciate the help, but I can't quite understand what you're saying. I've been working only with RM2K3 until recently, so I don't really understand variables. If there's an even easier way, I'd like to know it, and if there isn't, I'll just bite the bullet and learn what I need to to understand your instructions.

What I would do is make a duplicate tileset where the bridge tiles are passable and have a priority of at least 3. Then make the game transfer the player to a duplicate map with the passable bridge when he needs to go under it, and vice versa when he needs to go over it. I've attached a demo to show you what I mean.
