I spent quite a while on this and ended up with the current alignment. If the base is higher, larger pokemon extend below it and it looks weird too.

I guess I could edit all the base images to stretch them up a little.

wouldn't it make more sense to manually align the pokemon on a transparent background, using a file size that is uniform across all critters? Then you'd just display them at your base height and they'd line up properly on their own without any fiddlin.

Pokemon sprites are already centered on their 96x96 canvases. This is why they look fine in a list of them. It'd be weird if they were all at different heights. I'll just make the bases bigger

[edit] I just made all the bases taller, now they're ~55px instead of about 30px high.
