there's no one answer. look around and learn something about computer specs.

"Good" is subjective. There are factors that matter more to some than they do to other.

What do you want and what are you doing with the laptop?

Ummm....? :-[
Sure you can have some of my knowledge I guess ???

@Strike_Reyhi - Any specific things I should be looking for?
I'm not much of a computer person. :(

I'd be using the laptop whilst I'm travelling between places to do my homework (Which is basically filming and photos)
So I guess a laptop that works well with photos and videos.

Just avoid Intel Graphics. That's pretty much it.

The rest you can just go for whatever you like.

I'm kind of an AMD fan; AMD chipsets typically are installed on mobos with AMD Raedon integrated graphics and around 4-8 GB of RAM. You will need that for photos and movies.

Your needs are pretty expensive, what you want in a computer is fast processing and a lot of memory with a fast VPU. Looky here for an example of what sounds like your needs are.

I think he means consuming videos and pictures, not creating them.

Personally I'd stay away from Acer as they tend to have weaker build quality. You should really go in store and try out different laptops to see how the keyboards and such feel, and how the laptop itself feels. Don't worry to much about the specs, doesn't sound like you need much.
I'm much too lazy to put an actual signature here.

Ghim

You can't go wrong with a thinkpad. I personally find them to be the highest quality laptops.

I bought an ASUS off a friend for $200. Its great. I can run some games, but it does everything else perfectly. AMD graphics~
