Yes, level 40, even though it is widely known the max level is 20  ;8.  Sword is a dirty liar.

I remember watching the intro vid for FF8. That video totally had me hyped for the rest of the game!

Having a random guy in guild wars give me a bunch of green and gold weapons, and a mini hydra.  worth of about 30k, I didn't even know the guy.

Having some random lvl 61 person come up to me in RuneScape and give me rune helm and dagger, 50k, tons of wind and mind runes, tons of noted cooked swordfish, and about 55 noted gold ore.  I've stopped playing for about a year now but that moment...I nearly fainted I was so happy.  He logged out almost right after he gave it to me and I never saw him again (and I was still a noob, lvl 5, so I didn't get his screenname)

I've also made someone else's best videogame moment (or so he said to me at school) when he joined Runescape and I dumped my bank account onto him (Rune scim, 1 mil gold, a bunch of tunas, lobsters, and swordfish, rune pick, crapload of mind runes and wind runes, addy plate and legs, and pretty much everything else valuable to a noob).  I haven't touched Runescape since, but right after the series of trades he said he almost wet his pants at the value of all the stuff.

Random high-level giveaways are the best.

Some guy gave me 8 bottles of black dye once.
I was like OH SWEET. And made an uber guild bought lots of gear, HOLY SHIT IM PLAYING THIS GAME AGAIN BBL.

finding a glitch in Spyro (the original PS version) where I was immune to enemy attack and enemies would keep flattening or repeating their death animations over and over again until they were out of sight.  No clue how I did it but it was FUN.  I died in water, though...but still kept the glitch.  LOTS of fun, especially against bosses.  The kind of "what the heck is this this is awesome!" kinda fun.

Same, you used to be able to sell it to the shop for 20-30k depending on thur stock

well, new most awesome game moment:

Boomerang glitch in LoZ: OoT; the thing stayed stuck to the boss in Jabu-Jabu and kept doing damage, yay for quick cheap kills when you're at a half-heart of health.  And no I don't suck; I need a new controller, mine decided to not respond to the joystick being pressed to the left.
