Weird Hairstyles on Sprites

I got to thinking about spriting some more characters from my game, got distracted, and decided to watch a movie. I found Pandorica. I decided to sprite Eiren, Thade, and Aries using a basesprite from LooseLeaf, and this is what I came up with:

Next, I'd like to do sprites for Yolandi Visser and Watkin Tudor Jones from Die Antwoord in the movie Chappie. Spriting more characters with weird hairstyles such as that, from indie films I like.
I'm having a hard time making this look not like a chunky girl w/ an ice cream cone. LOL. please help.

I would love to see you sprite Yolandi from that picture above. Just a standstill front view. I'm having a hard time and would be interested in seeing how you would do it. I cant seem to get the pink gun right either. It just looks like an ice cream cone in my attempt.

Thank you so much for this, Aco. The gloves on the hands look much better. Is that the Lytesprite base sprite you designed? She does look creepy.
