When you pay cash and you get change, do you put the change in your wallet in the store or in your car?

Because I do it in the store and I fumble around with it and it takes too long so I'm thinking about cramming the bills and coins in my pockets and then putting the bills in my wallet when I get to my car

Please do not answer if you have a purse

In the store.
Then when I get home I throw in on the counter.
And then it builds up, and becomes a couple dollars.
And I spend it on something dum.

Edit:
When I read changed, I think of coins.
I don't like having coins in my wallet. The coins slide to the folds and makes it annoying to close.

Store! I'll put the coins in my pocket and neatly put the cash back in my wallet ready for the next transaction.

yuyu!

Even with a purse, this becomes annoying and time consuming. I have a specific place where stuff goes and if I don't put it there immediately, I might forget and leave it in my pocket when I wash my jeans or something. ;9

I use cash all the time. Usually I just slip the change into my pocket as soon as I have it and dump it all in a vase when I get home

but then again I have very quick tactile reflex and such a motion is never awkward or time consuming

damn it does everyone associate change with coins

what am I supposed to call the money you get back when you give the cashier more than the cost of the item

Sophist

your change is the total yes but people do associate change with being coins first and bills second

with dolla dolla bills you just fold that shit into your pocket and then deal with it later

i look the cashier dead in the eyes and take my fucking time putting everything delicately and orderly in to my wallet

but then again money down here isn't crazy (seriously what the fuck are you doing with pennies)

Unless I'm the only person in line. Then they can get over it.

I don't. I give it to homeless people. Somebody's got to fund the back alley drug dealing economy.

Sated

I don't put change in my wallet. Change goes in my back pocket.

As a cashier, I can say with 100% certainty that:

I've actually had people go through their entire purse looking for exact change, even if it meant giving me at least 20 pennies. People will use upwards of 6 gift cards with small varying amounts just to get rid of them. Old ladies will demand they fill out every single part of a check, even though we use electronic conversion and it's completely unnecessary. Long story short, you'd have to actively be trying pretty hard to take up more time than a good portion of the people that go through a checkout.

I just use my card for everything. I have no problem sliding my card for a $1.83 Mountain Dew.
