Frozen 2 - Officially Announced

(CNN) - If you (or, more likely, your kids) are still singing those "Frozen" tunes over a year later, you'll have a brand new set of tunes in the not-too-distant future.

Disney officially announced the most obvious sequel in recent years, "Frozen 2," on Thursday to stockholders, along with more major movie news.

The original creative team of Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee and Peter Del Vecho will return, and Josh Gad (Olaf himself) was on hand to make the announcement.

Well, I'm pretty excited for this. It seems like they've got the same crew working on it, too.

At least they got the original writer on board. I figure things might actually turn out OK if that's the case.

I actually seem to recall the Lion King II not being that bad, compared to the others...but I was pretty young when I last saw it. B(

After some quick googlin', I discovered that many of the terrible Disney sequels were actually passed off to other writers. There's a set name of writers that do the good stuff, and a set name of writers that generally come up with the bad stuff. I guess Disney was really stupid about that.

Luckily, Frozen 2 is going to be written by the original Frozen's writer. She was actually the only writer, whereas many older Disney films have at least three writers.


So, I'd like to think that will make this not flunk like Disney's other sequels. We'll see.

Well, I don't think that's totally fair. Practically every story has some crazy embryonic stage where it doesn't even resemble the final product.
