Frankly (see what I did there?),
*rimshot* Nice move, brother, nice move...
this looks to be an awesome project. Can't wait to see it bud!
Thank you very much. I'm putting a LOT of love into it. It's one of the stories I've been telling through D&D campaigns for over 20 years now. Of course, it's not going to run like a D&D game, nor do I try to emulate any of the mechanics. However, the astute observer will detect some connective tissue between the two.
Eeeeeeeee!! I wanna play this! The story seems very promising!
I'm really looking forward to all the class specifics and the exploration, combined with a quest log. Plus, I'm so happy to see another game with limited skills. It really neatens up the experience. B)
Your excitment is contagious! It's definitely something I'm poassionate about. I just wanted to look at it this morning, and I wound up finding a methof to place the Quest Journal into the Scene_Menu. With SCRIPTING. *ish prowd* Of course, it was kinda designed that way, but the fact that I get Ruby enough to tweak two different scripts to work with each other is a step ahead for me.
I also found ways to cut a script or two out. It seems that some YEM components do a ton of things for me that other, smaller scripts were intended to do. So, the code is less bulky! Harosho!
I have the next few days off, and I'm gonna try like hell to get some screens and pics up. Untill I have a decent working model, this thread will remain a WIP type discussion, and I welcome any feedback. Check every once in a while for a new poll; RMRK is my counsel for this type of thing.
I have a few other things planned that may turn out to be fun even before the game is complete, like community directed subclasses. In other words, RMRK decides what kinds of special subclasses will appear. On that note, any ideas for equipment, monsters, special encounters or charaters (wanna be a character? We can do that) are welcome. I'd like for RMRK to see some of itself in the game, since so many of you are a part of me.
The parts I wash.
Occasionally.
