Hello everyone, I just joined this forum and picked up RPG Maker VX ACE. I was just wondering where I should start. If anyone could suggest scripts, actors, icon, audio, etc. I should grab, I'd be super grateful. thanks!
Also, the project I'll be working on is a fantasy setting, if that helps for better suggestions (think like secret of mana but darker)

All of my scripts are totally free to use for commercial use. You don't need to ask me for permission. I'm too lazy to update every single script post I ever made with this addendum. So ignore whatever "rule" I posted there. :)

All scripts can be found at: https://pastebin.com/u/diamondandplatinum3

How about stories, Small goals, simple tutorial, helpful scripting lessons, and some free programs you can use to make some small edits you may need for materials you want in your games. The rest is taking your time to search up what YOU need for YOUR PROJECT. whatever that project may be.
Final Statement: I chowder5lock am a dipshit and MA is a pretty cool dude.

Welcome to RMRK! I don't know if I have any specific suggestions for scripts. Generally, I think that the message system in VX Ace is very limited, so I would certainly recommend that you pick up some of those. I've written a couple, and Yanfly has also produced a popular message system.

I personally quite like the DBS in VX Ace, but if you are looking to enhance it, then Yanfly has some great scripts for that. If you are looking to change it altogether then dark_falcao has a great ABS.

There are lots of sideview battle systems out there too, so if you're looking for something like that, let me know.

Otherwise, if you are looking for scripts, I recommend my Script Searching Tutorial and I recommend that you look at the RMVXA Script Index.

That said, scripts can only go so far. The most useful thing to do when first starting out is to learn how to event and make good use of that resource. Any game you make will require heavy eventing, and most RM users probably only use it to about 20% of its potential. Investing some time to familiarize yourself with events at the outset will ultimately improve your game and speed up the game creation process.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Hello and welcome to the community. I'm not going to recommend anything because as you start crafting your game you'll figure out what you want and need. Then you can throw the things you need and want into it making a polished game that hopefully, won't get bloated. Designing and making a game around features you think are cool usually doesn't end up well, especially if this is your first time playing with VXA. Create the story, characters and settings first, come up with game play elements you want then GOOGLE THE SHIT OUT OF THINGS, hopefully you'll find about half of what you're looking for. Welcome! B) I hope you like it here. Watch out for the sewers! <Insert clever phrase of reasoning as to why you need to watch out for the sewers here>.

Emphasis on small goals, the power of eventing, and not spending too much energy on extra features. xD

This may help out: http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,44309.0.html :)

Welcome, I would recommend getting familiar with the built in battle engine. Since you've bought this tool, definitely make full use of it. ;)

Nice to meet you Ace, I'm new here too.  I don't use Ace, but Google will find just about whatever you need as far as graphic and sound resources go.
