It really isn't hard. The first time I ever made a pie crust I thought it was going to be super difficult. Boy was I wrong!  I bet you could do it

Are 'Ms. Mac' pies available in the US? Goodness they're delicious.

lol The only other screen name I've ever gone by is LadyMac.  So I suppose, in a weird way, you can get 'Ms. Mac' pies in the US xD   But no, I've never seen that brand

Pie crust isn't really difficult to mix up. It's just hard to make it look nice. My lattices always fail.
I make a pretty good apple pie. I was told my peach pie was delicious, but they didn't save me any so I never got any of it. 


It's a little silly, but I feel like the pie is more special when you hand pick the filling ingredient. We have a lot of wild blackberries around my mom's house every year, so I used to make a lot of blackberry pies (though I guess they're technically cobblers). I was a little sad about not having blackberries around up here with strike, but then I found out that we have rhubarb in the back yard. So now I make rhubarb pie instead.

Shoot I never do lattice, that stuff is hard! lol  I buy mini cookie cutters, roll my crust out and cut a couple of shapes out of it.  Then lay the shapes I cut out on top of the crust. That, a fork, and an egg wash are all you need    It may not make the cover of a magazine, but it'll be good enough for your family.

Back when I lived in Ferndale, I lived in a house with a little orchard (it was only like 10 trees). Each year we would have enough apples to make like 20 apples pies. Good times.

Fruit reserve or thick jam are the best fillings for entry-level homemade pies, it's pretty hard to mess up the filling during baking with those.

Mixed fruit or plum are the best choices.

Pie is fucking delicious.

I've never had pie in my life, this being India. But we do have stuff here that makes up for it, I guess.
