I've had a few times when people outright decided to say things that weren't very nice to me, I was probably asking for it a few times though
But there were a few times when it wasn't necessary.

We're a rough and tumble bunch at times, grown into close friends with each other. But we don't just randomly attack specifically new people unless they either have an attitude that deserves it or are just flat out annoying (*coughjomarcough*). Sure, everyone's likely to get hazed at one point or another, joking about their stances on a subject/game or questioning their parentage and/or cleanliness, but that's just general fun rather than any actual disrespect for a person. Heck, the most actual disrespect that I've seen lately was the whole "brony = loser" thing out of dislike the whole MLP thing, and even then that's kinda understandable to an extent. The regulars here just have a rougher sense of humor that can take a while for some people to get used to.
