First of all. Sirius wasn't gay as mastermoo pointed out. The only reason he didn't have a girlfriend is because the girl he set his eyes on (he won't admit it) was Lily Potter, before she married Jame's Potter. Later on he had to stay in hiding all the time. It's not like a dog can take a woman out to dinner. :/

As for Dumbledore being gay. ... I'm not denying this because of my Christian views. I'll go ahead and say that.

I believe that Dumbledore wasn't gay, and for a couple of reasons. The "proof" that Dumbledore was gay with his buddy (can't remember the guy's name x_x ) isn't proof at all. His "great loss" was the fact that he lost a great friend, and just about the only person he felt was as intellectual as him. He did not adore him "gaily"(sp?), the "adoration" he had for him was merely the admiration of one colleague for another. I mean come on, he spent his whole life with his liberal family who didn't think about things as deeply as he did. HE HAD NO ONE TO TALK TO. Until his friend of course. If you spent years trapped in a box with mice, wouldn't you jump at any chance you had to talk with a human being? When I say liberal, I use it concerning the background his family grew up in.

Another reason Dumbledore wasn't gay, has to do with something Rowling herself said.
"Not everyone likes her work, Rowling said, likely referring to Christian groups that have alleged the books promote witchcraft. Her news about Dumbledore, she said, will give them one more reason."
Why would she say this? If she was fine with Dumbledore being gay, she would have no reason to say it. It wouldn't affect her at all. In fact, I think her publishers coerced her into saying this for the sole reason of more publicity. The statement she made was most likely a side note she made which showed that she cared what the Christian's thought of her book.

You may think me an idiot, but, having seen many "different" things in my lifetime, I have a pretty good insight into the human psyche.

lol

Who cares? It's a fucking kids book.

Whoever is still considering Harry Potter to be a series for children, has certainly not read the books, or wasn't paying much attention to the story.  Harry Potter WAS meant to be for children, but I am sure that changed a long time ago.  Some of the content in those books is perhaps too complicated for a mere child to comprehend.

And as for what Tsunokiette said, I have to agree.  Not only it is a good point.
I also believe this is just a publicity trick.  I am almost sure that the story (article) was actually modified a little just to make it more attractive to the readers and create a greater scandal.  I really don't care whether Dumbledore was gay or not, but I doubt he was ever attracted to anyone.  Yes, he was a man.  But a man concerned with so many things that he would have barely even had time to think about his sexuality and his "urges", or to look at anyone closely enough as to fall in love with.  It is the same as with Leonardo Da Vinci and other famous intellectuals, who used to see the world from a different point of view.  They were too busy thinking for all of us who do not think enough about things such as science and philosophy, like to have time for love.  Some people just don't socialize.  They do not have time or enough interest in what any common man would consider more important than studying and uncovering the mysteries of the Universe: women, sex, etc..  That does not make them homosexuals.

But that is my point of view.  Laugh if you want. :P

Yeah, being a genius is hard sometimes.

have you ever noticed how random this topic is? I've noticed that your talking about a character in a book of a series that ended in the middle of the summer when the book came out so there will be no hp books..ever. Besides... why so you care that Dumbledore is gay... if he was a real person i could care more but hes not i really don't care. Still random.
This subject is as gay as MJ.

Arkbennett

Actually, in the end, JK Rowling tricked you all once more.
Dumbledore really had a crush on me, and we had many secks.
He actually died because of a heart attack, after I ripped his asshole to shreds one lustful night. :blizj:

Rowling pwned all of you.

What's your problem with real-life gays? :D
