I think because they wanted to have him in another genre of video games, besides Minigame games and Racing games. Either that, or they ran out of ideas and on a whim, put R.O.B. in as a character.

The other day, me and my friend were talking about Bomberman in Brawl, how a lot of people wanted him in too, but we thought it was a pretty bad idea since all he'd have was bombs.

You're also the "second best in Canada." Stop making excuses. I took two stocks off of the second best in Canada, using a keyboard, and I don't play Smash every day. You on the other hand play that game every single day, and go around gloating about how good you are. So if I played as much as you, I would have whooped your ass every single match, no doubts about it.
