Enchanting weapons

How to enchant weapon with some skill? In other words, how to make skill that will enchant weapon and give it special animation when attack with "fight" (weapon)?

For example I want to make spell that will imbue weapon with fire and give fire damage. So when skill is used, for some period of turns enchanted character does fire damage + ordinary damage (with some fire animation) to opponent.

***EDIT***

STEP 1:Make the Regular Weapon[Sword] and the enchanted weapon[Sword-FIRE ENCHANT or w/e u want][/color]


STEP 2:Make a Status Effect[i named it fire but u can name it "Enchanted" or w/e u want to]


STEP 3:Make a skill that will cause the status effect. Like if u use fire it will make your character enchanted with fire.


STP 4:Lastly, make the event or common event[preferrably, common event]. it should be a condition branch that include that if ur character has the "Enchant" Status his weapon switches to the enchanted weapon.


i haven't tested it so test it and tell me if anything is wrong with it.
