xp message codes?

can someone name the codes that you use in the messages for xp? theres only tutorials for 2k3...Im trying to get pauses in the middle of messages so i dont have to make new messages.

Things like \n[###] or \v[###]. Message codes. He wants one that makes the message pause in the middle, and then continue. I seem to recall you can do this in 2k3, but I don't know if there is any sort of code for that in XP.
