I'd have to disagree with Strike on gender not mattering on the internet though. The intensity varies per person, but I think we all treat or think of others differently depending on their gender, to some extent. Personally, if I like and connect with someone, them being a girl will intensify my admiration for them. I think it raises my initial interest in them by default too.
that just means you're a nerd who gets awkward and sweaty around girls.

I don't think that's an appropriate thing to say in Bean Bags.

fair enough, suffice to say you acknowledging it's a bias that you have means you probably should reflect on it a bit.

Why exactly do you automatically bump up your opinion of someone if they say they're female?

Oh, I don't. I have to like them as a person first. If I don't like them much as a person, then there's really no added benefit to them being a female. It's also cancelled out if I know they're unattractive.

I don't think it's that rare for a person to be more drawn to people of the opposite sex who they think could be attractive. It's just a biological function.

It's so weird to me. None of my males friends have female friends.
Friendzone this, friendzone that. blah
If somebody seems interesting or seems like they're just a cool person I try to talk to them. I don't care past that.

Kenni was sitting there playing video games in class so I walked up and starting talking to her. Then we became friends somehow.
Deanna seemed like a nice person so I just starting bothering her. Then we became friends.

Don't really get why people seem to care so much.

or meybe it seems weird 2 me becus i like dong lo

Some people can't value women for more than sex objects

Irock is normal in saying he's typically attracted to women by nature, as it's just nature. It's when you only want one thing from someone, anyone, that it becomes a problem.

I'm from a family that is 95% female, so I didn't really know how to properly speak to you man-creatures for the longest time. There's more of a balance in my life now, so this isn't really much of the case anymore; but initially, gender at least had a slight impact on how I communicated with someone. I used to have an awful tendency for treating attractive/cool/smart men differently, too. ;9 If I met a dude I was into, I was instantly mega shut down and humbled in his presence. I wouldn't be able to even talk to him, but would think everything these guys say are the best things ever.

I'm ok with being a nerd .. ...

Also, I'd like to comment on just how awesome this comment is. Thank you for pointing out just how ridiculous the "friendzone" phrase is. B)
