This is totally great and everything, and I can't wait for more Skyrim, but wtf is this storyline? What about all of the threads that they left open in the main game?

I don't think it was meant to be a continuation of anything, and am slightly confused as to why anyone would think that to begin with.

I didn't think it was a continuation of anything, I'm wondering why they didn't finish the threads that they had left hanging, which seemed obvious for dlc.

They'll finish the loose ends when the next game comes out with a big book called The Warp In The North.

Looks neat. I do wonder how you become a vampire demon thing if you're already a werewolf. Those are vampires, right?

The story is a bit confusing, but it's nice to see an upfront antagonist with presence for once. I feel like the large freeroam RPGs really tend to lack a character who creates a sense of urgency with the plot, though, I understand, too, that with these kinds of games the developers don't WANT a sense of urgency. Perhaps this will be a different experience from the main game, then.

My biggest beef with Shivering Isles was that it was just more of the same game I hadn't had the time to explore a tenth of. I'm down for this if it can give me something that Skyrim itself doesn't (and I do mean more than a demonic transformation--I've technically already got one of those).

EDIT: Thought I should clarify that I don't want a completely different game. What I mean is that I'm hoping to see more urgency with this plot, as it would make it more interesting. I understand that runs counter to the way Elder Scrolls games usually work, but just one add-on with a little more weight to it. I can dream.

I solve practical problems.
For taking arms in the name of your breakfast.
This will give me more things to do instead of finishing the actual main quest . . .

If you're looking for a guided/linear experience, TES is not for you.

That seems to me what they do with most the games too so that is probably the most logical way to look at what they could do.

These games have way too many books >.>

Don't get me wrong, I love TES. I tend to do the main questlines one at a time, anyway, only taking other quests if they're within the immediate vicinity of whatever I'm really in that region to do. I certainly don't want TES to be put on rails, but, at the same time, I've always been disappointed that the villains/antagonists barely have a presence. Skyrim is a little better at this than others, though. At least I don't feel that I have more to fear from a forest bear or a big pussycat than I do the supposed world-destroying bad guy like it was with Oblivion.

So, yeah. This add-on is more of the same. I'm not sure that I'd bother buying it, then. There's so much in the main game I'll probably never get to.

I still want to see an official addon for a giant mudcrab boss that comes out from the water somewhere like they had in their little game jam when they first released the game.  That was just so awesome looking.

Well, there was the guardian mudcrab. That was a giant mudcrab...ghost...thing. Also, for some reason, a dragon flew out of nowhere and firebreath-ed it to death for me, and then left without bothering to notice me. I feel kind of rejected.
