Well the replacement laptop is here and it works great so far. It can handle Oblivion and Blood Money and all the other things I used to play on the old laptop. It can't handle Fallout 3 but that's no big deal. It's not so much a graphical issue and more of a "Because it's an intel chip" issue. According to a search I did, Fallout 3 just happens to dislike intel chips apparently, even if they're semi-decent ones. But other than that, it's way nicer than my previous laptop.

Though I am noticing one small issue. Around the area where the touch mouse is, I hear a "tick-tick" noise. It ticks twice and then stops and happens again at random. There doesn't seem to be a particular pattern and it doesn't happen constantly but it happens frequently.

It's a brand new machine. And it hasn't given me any functionality problems yet. But that tick-tick noise is bothering me. Y'don't reckon it's something I should worry about, do ya?

"Semi-decent intel graphics" - there is no such thing. They are all complete and utter shit.

Record the noise and upload it here.

Ok ok I got this.
Use high volume while watching it. There are several ticks throughout. At one point in that video it ticks the first time, and then there's a huge delay and then the second tick occurs. That noise you hear initially is just me tryin' to get stationary.

Gracie

It's a time bomb. Burn your laptop immediately.
