Some Data Disappeared

For some reason my computer just... just decided it didn't feel like remembering I had done anything in Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. My saved game just went away, my custom scenario just went away, and the game said "Starting for the first time" When I started it up. The resolution had reset to default. The files aren't there in the save folders either.

I didn't even know this kind of thing could happen. The game still seems to work. The save data's just missing. I've still got my Save file in Hell's Kitchen, and I've still got all my internet History. But for some reason my RCT2 data just... just vanished.

Can this happen to other things? Is it another part of Vista Syndrome? Or is it just a RCT2 glitch?

There was nothing stupid about this question. It happened to data from one game, so I think it's reasonable to worry that it might happen to something else. I just wanted to know if this is a sign that my computer's going to start losing more data or not. You can't just move all of my topics in here.
