Red Ocean

Overview
Currently in development, featuring over 15+ hours of gameplay excluding side quests, Red Ocean features a dynamic decision system in which every decision you make can decide the outcome of the many possible endings as well as how you interact with other characters as far as acquiring new party members or even a discount at the local weapon shop. The demo will contain at least an hour of straight play so that the player can learn the many different storylines as well as the protagonists that are a part of each. It will also contain a brief moment of exploration and allow the player to experience the strong and face-paced battle system.

Story
The Red Ocean, a science project started by an out of world civilization to colonize other planets and transform their people into a different "super" breed has been taking place for nearly 10 years... however, no one knows this but the victims of the transformation.
Enter Grayer, a 17 year old village hunter who lives a somewhat peaceful life along with his mentally disabled brother and best friend Talya. After gathering firewood for a village party one day, his best friends father, Darrius, relays to the both of them that they must take up arms and be ready for battle as an unknown troop of soldiers have been reportedly sacking village after village within their country and they fear that theirs may be next...
And then there's Barron, an assassin who has also trained his daughter to follow in his footsteps, who has noticed an eerie silence in his hometown. Venturing out into the city plaza, he notices that the mayor is giving a public announcement... about a futuristic enemy that they had all believed were merely fairy tales planning to attack their city. Coming face to face with the beast, it is up to Barron and his people to stand up to this seemingly impossible threat.
With many different stories to play through, I'd have to write a book in order to fully explain the universe of "Red Ocean". The game will culminate in a final battle that will involve every storyline to merge and to let the player decided who will fight by their sides... however, remember, everything you do and say will change how the ending will play out for you.
For a demo, this game features plenty to explore and learn as you experience the action packed story of "Red Ocean".
*Remember, this is a demo game, so many of the listed story arcs are in the updated version that I possess and have not yet released to the public for testing purposes. The story and 99% of the game is on paper, all that's left is to actually put it into the game. With college coming up though, it may take longer than the planned release date: End of September - Beginning November 2010.

Game Features
* Hand drawn character portraits
* Over 100 different musical scores
* Over 5 different stories to play through
* Planned 30+ hours of gameplay
* Side view battle system (ATB)
* Lockpicking System
* Alignment System (Good / Bad)
* Planned 10+ optional dungeons
* Planned 50+ Side quests
* Dynamic skill leveling system

Your art could use a bit of work but the rest looks fantastic.

Yes I agree, there are a few more photoshop tutorials I could take to make the images look a little bit more detailed :P I need a tablet though. Hard going mouse only. And yea, proportion for the most part is pretty off. I'll work on it. Thanks a bunch for the feedback.

I would suggest trying to get someone else to do it before you get too far into work.

Probably a good idea. Especially since this is the first time I attempted incorporating my own artwork into a project. I'll see what I can do. Again, thanks.

Someone recently told me about a free paint program called SAI. It's really nifty and easy to use if you'd like to try it.

I just took a peek at the software... and wow it's pretty darn good looking. Thanks a lot for the info Mireille! (jk) Oh, and just wondering: Do you think it'd be better to have fully drawn characters (as in showing the entire body when they're talking) or just the face. Just a personal choice so I can see if I should try it out or not.
