Typing Special Characters?

I would like to be able to type some special characters including the dot product and division sign. Is that kind of thing possible?

I've found you can do dot product and the division sign by copy pasting from word, but is there a way to stick other characters in there, like Greek letters or the Integral 'S'?

Works fine for me. Just copypasta them from Character Map. I'm just unsure if Tahoma supports the special characters, but this can be easily fixed with a simple font change.
