A while ago, Sir Edeon posted the tutorial Here for how to make a cut scene before the title screen (in RPGmakerXP).
What I'd like to see is a tutorial on how to do the same thing in RPGmaker2k3.

If anyone knows how to do it please reply here with a tutorial.

It is only possible with a scripting system. RM2k3 does not have a scripting system, so it is impossible.

If you've played Ahriman's Prophecy (and have been cheating (editing in RM2K3))it shows that the start credits are made using maps. If you found out how she did that, you could probably make a cut-scene.
yay!

I know how to create cutscenes using maps and can make one that follows the start menu, but what I wanna figure out how to do is make a cutscene that precedes the start menu, or at least APPEARS to precede it. I know I can make it play a cutscene after the start menu and then set it to return to the start menu, but then it'd keep playing it over and over, which I can't have. If there's a way to make the game Auto-Start without a start menu and then have it return to the start menu, followed by not showing the cutscene anymore, then I could do that.

I'm willing to do a lot of work if someone could show me how to do that.

You could have a switch that turns on after you play the cut scene after the start menu and then set it to return to the start menu . So when you hit new game it looks for the switch then skips the cut scene and goes the actual game

It's just a switch and a conditional branch at the start of the cut scene

But that's not what you wanted, I would suggest finding and talking to those who can edit the .exe of your project. It would be really easy for them to just disable the title screen, so it would only come up after you told it to. Your only problem would be your cut scene playing after the game over screen but that's easy fixed by a custom game over script.

sorry I couldn't be more help
Insanity is the Emergancy Exit, so smile... It's the only way out alive

@Kraton: That's what I mean, when you click on the game it shows the credits(maps) then goes onto the menu.

Well you helped with one of the two issues. I haven't yet made the cutscene but I'll keep this post in mind for when I do. As for finding someone who can edit the .exe file to disable the start menu and then just manually go to it ingame like you said, I don't know anyone who could do that, nor do I know where to start looking.

Thanks for the help. ^^

If you would rather have a replacement for the starting pictures, try RMRecker. It changes the icon, the Enterbrain logo at the start, and even changes the stuff you get when you type in $A or $B or whatever.

Ugh, I think I tried RmRecker, and true to its name, it totally screwed me up.  If you don't know what you're doing, it will try to loop when you exit, keeping you from loading saved games, or quitting.  I don't like the way it skips the start screen.

My advice? You could probably do it on ResourceHack.  There's something in there for changing logos.   http://www.pokecommunity.com/archive/index.php/t-46074.html

So you go to the part where you would change logos, and you could add in text screens or pictures, as a logo.  As far a normal text goes, this might not be quite as workable.
