Why won't it save?

A more correct form of this question is:

Why won't RPG Maker VX save my files and not corrupt them?

Anytime I try to save a file in RPG maker VX and then try to re-open that file, I findout that the file has become corrupted. I don't know what to do. It's not just a matter of making backups because If I try t use them, then they get corrupted!

I've lost three projects with months of work on them. Can someone give me an answer?

Are you clicking the save file from the folder directly or are you loading it from the game?

I've tried it both ways.

It'll give me various problems.

Incorrect File Type
Unable to load Actor Data
Unable to load Area Data

And so on and so forth.

You data is somehow corrupted.

I'm gonna try to reinstall the program,that might work.
