Well, let's extrapolate this.

The first video game console was released in 1972, which was 39 years ago, and Majora's Mask in 2000. Which means the title was released at about 72% of the way through the life cycle of the video game entertainment industry.

The first piece of recorded music, via phonograph, was in 1888. This was 123 years ago. If one were to go 72% of the way through the life cycle of the recorded music industry, they would end up in 1977. The biggest hit single of 1977 was The Eagle's "Hotel California." Which, if you consider the fact that it is regularly played on oldies radio stations, is pretty old.

And both are equally regarded as fucking awesome today. Those statistics do make sense relatively, but in a linear timeline MM was released 11 years ago, out of about 5000 years of human civilization. Everything changes when put into a different context.
it's like a metaphor or something i don't know

MM is relatively old for a video game, which I think everyone can agree is the context that is created when a video game is called "old".

I'm glad someone understood what I was getting at.

kids have no excuse not to at least give the classics a shot with emulation. none.

you aren't a literature nerd if you've never read the old stand by's you sure as fuck aren't a gamer geek if you've no interest in anything if it's not brand new. at least not in my eyes. maybe i'm a bit elitist.

Maybe you could escape the glass box next time you're bored? :V

Yeah, that hat is very sharp, Tez. I passed up an identical cap, though I ended up getting a similar one anyhow.

Adrien
