This is my first demo {not really a demo yet, It's uploading} release.

Anyway, I'd like to thank the_M_man for helping me on my last job in this news, the first news. The summon system was crucial to my story and he helped alot, and so did a lot of other people here for other problems I had.

    Ratings: T for Teen....?

Summary:  Updates will be fed to you as time passes and the project nears it's first release.

The children were told stories about the magical crystals said to ensure safety upon their planet. Each consisting of an element: Fire, Water, Earth and Wind. Each crystal was said to have unlimited power and strength, brewed straight from the planet's energy and that of the ancients. Until one day, a crystal was found by mistake and taken away for the use of power and destruction.
As time passes, the crystals face a new danger and the new warriors must fight to protect them no matter what.

Can the new warriors save the crystals and restore the balance in the world and bring peace?

    Spoiler for story:

Updates in a few. Just hang on I have to fix something lol

Basic Characters - Not Final...updates will come as project becomes bigger and better.
    Spoiler for Characters:
Characters: Some of the background information is so long, you'd have to come
    1: Emma Griszom:

Emma Griszom is a confused young girl, 17 years old at the beginning of her story. Emma gets her last name Griszom from being a rouge girl: Gris means in Esper "The" and zom means "Rouge". She gave herself the name after being kicked out of her hometown and after the towns people referred to her as "Rouge". She deemed it fitting to have. Emma constantly questions her abilities and her path in life. She is frightened that she follows the wrong side and the darkness is eating her. She is shy, quiet and self conscious about her life, heritage and blood. She is always aware of the anger the fellow Espers feel toward her and can still remember the hate they had for a certain girl who had the same effect on them almost forty years ago.

3: Jasper Carlisle from Nikeah - Emma's father:

He's a very tall man, with bronze skin and green eyes. To complete his handsome and dark look, he has a head of dark brown hair. Jasper grew up without his father and lived 11 years of his life in Nikeah, where he was born. After a bankrupt at his mother's food shop, he and his mother move away to Figaro castle, where he becomes a Knight Stump (a child knight in training) and than at the age of seventeen, a full Knight Tempest of Figaro.
His life from there was to serve his king, which he found easy enough, for his king was a smart, caring and powerful king. His mother falls ill and they are forced to live in
    horrible conditions.

    4: James "Jesse" Torreto:

James (he likes to be called Jesse). He only allows people he trusts and care about to call him by his first name.
Jesse is from the newly constructed castle inside of Zozo, where two of the four buildings were taken down by a royal family who once ruled there. After receiving their winnings from a major bet on six casinos and gambler houses, especially Action Houses, they earned enough to build a castle almost as nearly great as Figaro, with the same basic machinery and tech King Edgar provided to his people.

5: Gelato La Mort Par Glace - Main Villian:

Gelato is the high Magister and general for Talanlhûn. He rules under King Vanvir and Queen Járnís. He is a master spell weaver, especially for ice. Some say he is ice itself, other say he is the actual element. Commanding under ice, he can conjure up water as well, from the air. He can pull energy from the planet, something said to be a devilish and evil thing to do. He dresses in the colors of his element and that of his kingdom.
Gelato is known for freezing villages over and it's people until they either tell him what he wants or until they die. He floods lands when crops and taxes aren't given to him and he even goes as far as drafting children from any age or gender for his kingdom.

Please excuse the speed, I know it's too fast, but the crappy video recorder I'm using does that when it's the trail version *sigh* I'll try very hard to get better ones up.
    Spoiler for Game Videos:

*NONE; FOLDER WAS DESTROYED DUE TO VIRUS*

    Some screenshots for the game
    Better will come.
    Spoiler for Screen shot:
    Screen shots:
Ignore the title screen, it's crappy. Although I loved the patterns lol and sorry for crappy screen shots.
Two images were screwed up, so I had to take them down. But they will go back up later.

I hate them! :C  I will have to gather resources again and make my own FFVI tilesets...but fear not, its not as hard as it sounds lol I actually created a few pieces, although I've stopped to work on my XP title. Once I have something done for the XP title, I will begin my conquest for the FFVI tilesets! :D*[/list]

That monster next to the alligator is demented

Charsets don't fit with the FSM chipsets.
    That's all.

The monster next to the alligator is actually better look and it's moving whilst I play the actual test. I don't have a recording system so I took snapsnots.
Also...do you mean it's suffering from "cognitive" or that its "mad" and or "insane"?

Thanks for your help. I need that right now lol
Also...I used the starting off chipsets and stuff. I couldn't find resources so I made do with what I had.
But do you mean the soldiers walking about? Since this is a demo release, the characters (the main characters - the guy you see in red armor) will be changed. I'm currently making my own actual charsets that will fit with other sets, so they'll match. It's just taking me a while because I suck at sprite graphics  :-\

Anyone else? I need to know what looks like shite.

My biggest gripe is your poor man's house. The roof really looks like... Well, not a roof. Extend the right side of the building out a little bit more, and use a real door instead of a hole in the wall. Space the grassy-things out a little bit more on the roof (not four in a row), replace the weird middle tile and sideways "T" roof parts that don't belong with normal pieces of roof, and attach the towel to the clothesline. Oh, and use these for the very top of the building:

That circled log tile goes at the top of your log piles by the door. Make it's passability the cool star thing, and you're good to go.

Sorry if that sounded harsh and really corrective, but FSM didn't make their tilesets for you to copy/paste exactly how it shows up on the side onto your map. You have to think for yourself a little and get those creative juices going. If it helps, practice making a couple houses that look similar to this:

Spoiler for Oh, it's a Haus!:

That's all I'll say for now. I have to wait on a full story synopsis before I make any judgments there; it does have promise, though.

Thank you so much. I had a very hard time on the roof part  :-X

I can't believe I forgot the top of the logs and to connect the towel. I moved it to test the ground below so it would let people walk around and forgot to move it back lol *looks around* my stupid mistakes!

And about the door, well, I wanted to use that for the "poor man" part. The character isn't the richest of knights, considering > sorta of a spoiler >
    Spoiler for:
    He's retired
I will defiantly fix it all up, I'm only me and right now I'm creating a thread to recruit some help, after all, ya can't build a game by yourself  ^-^
I did also look at the house oddly every time I tested it. The roof got me and the well placement.

Thanks for the help, I'm going off to edit it and fix my stupid a$$ errors. Oh, and you weren't being harsh, you were being helpful. I'd only ask people to critique my work nicely...you know what I mean?

Notes: Some of the tiles in the set (the one I downloaded) didn't work right and I had to edit it, which came out wrong. But I've gotten better at it and I'll be able to do better.
I guess my real talent is writing and actually drawing things...*sigh*

Anyone else? I need the criticism (the nice kind) please.

Fair enough. Back to critiquing, then.

As I'm sure you know, the world map could use a lot more detail. There aren't really any standout features (Large forest, endless sea of desert, etc.). It's also a touch small; cities would be smashed together, and there's not much room to travel.

The house is looking better, though. I've taken the liberty of designing a replica of your house because, well, I have nothing better to do right now. It was originally just the house, but I got carried away and went trigger happy with scenery (I haven't mapped anything in a while, I got excited).

    Spoiler for:

My main tip to you: Use cliffs! They're about my most favorite thing in existence (Just call me Cliffman Sirius), they clear up a LOT of empty space and add another dimension to your maps. Don't abuse them, though, they have feelings too.

All mapping aside, I'm a little curious about your story. I don't like most fan-games (or any game that uses a successful series' name), but as long as it's not incredibly bland like a lot of games here, I'll probably enjoy it.

    Rep:

That's only part of the map. It's actually a section of Gaia (look here. Top right. Best I could do with the darn square button  :-\). It's not where the actual story line takes place, I just wanted those parts of the map because that's where Jasper (the man in armor) lives in the beginning.  Future events happen and the story unfolds and than  takes place in another world.
The real map is much larger, but I fear I must change the cities names later...

About the house. It's very good, It inspires me to redo my map. I will most defiantly use cliffs, if I found out which pieces to stick together. xD
Where did you find the top of the back house? Look for the top circle mark. I also added somethings I thought about the map. Cheers ;D
    Spoiler for:

Also, thanks for the mapping help, I'll try to follow....well, maybe not the same thing, because I'd be stealing and well, it wouldn't be original, but you get what I mean.

Just a teaser (this will be added to the main post) the story is much like the classics, a little. Think crystals lol

That should solve your tip-of-roof problem.

Now that I see the grand scale of things on that world map, not bad. It still could use a little bit more detail, but not bad.

And yeah, make a lot of practice maps before you get the story going. You'll be mad at yourself when you look back and say "I don't like the way that one looks..." and you have upwards of 20 events on it.

Wow, thanks for the roof bit. I thought that was a part of the wooden beam.
I tried to copy it, but the button style wouldn't allow suck turns like the real map makes >.> I think I came close. I was thinking about forests, dirt, grass spots and deserts...but I didn't want to change it that much from the real one. And, I don't have a lot of resources. I can't seem to find any that work with 2003 or even somewhat match my game.

The farm was basically already drawn down. I've written the story before I started to make the actual game, so it will come out better. I'll of course have to have more script, like towns' people talking, Inns, shops, knights...things like that.
I'm still editing a few things, and than I'm gonna put up a recruitment for my game. I can't handle this all by myself.

I'm gonna go edit my farm and the inside. Believe me, you don't want to see the inside. It looks like shite. I knew that the moment I was done (I've been looking for matching house insides to go with the outside, so it will take awhile. )

Alright, off I go to RPG Land! *Zzzzooommm*
Thanks again Sirius...I mean "Cliffman Sirius" :)

It'll be in this post soon.

Look in spoiler for my test maps.  I used cliffs :>

I've done a FFVI summon system before, but I never got to use it, sadly that was five formats ago. :tpg:

But if you want, I can take a look at your current summoning system to see if I can do a little extra to it if you want, I can't promise anything amazing as most of my time is going into my project, but I wouldn't mind helping. CMS eventing is my speciality anyway. :)

But if ya want, I could post a demo to show you how it works. I'm still trying to perfect the skill so it looks nice and everything lol
