Warning: ITT there is furries. (And many large picturz)

First... we'll start off with the newest picture I guess.

Awesome version of me.

Actually, there's a more updated version of this one, but I never did anything past the sketch.

Old drawing, but I still like it

I'll leave it at this for now.

Opinions?

not bad, but the hair in the first is kinda un-realistic.
the clothing also seems a bit flat on the colored ones.

good work though, I can't draw actual muzzles or anything too well,
so my furs are kinda chibi-esque.   I suppose I should learn.

all in all, if you're looking for advice, I'd say work on shading so that wrinkles and such don't look so flat and work a bit on how fabric drifts and falls over a body.

edit: ok so I can do muzzles profiled, gotta work on different angles

Hey Dalton, long time no see!  :D

I agree with NAMKCOR; the hair does look a bit flat in the colored ones, but you have gotten a lot better since the last time I've taken a look at your drawings.

Keep it up. :)

also, try drawing characters with short hair (all the hair looks the same), or perhaps with different styles of clothing (i.e. no overcoats) to get better with anatomy and face shape.

Lastly, I used to use gloves and pockets as a way to avoid drawing good fingers, not sure if that's what you're doing, but try hands without gloves.

also, looking closer at picture 2, the legs should be foreshortened and you probably should be seeing near the ankles on them, for the camera angle to be really accurate. she looks like she's halfway between leaning forward and standing straight up.

also, I'd clean up the lineart a bit before coloring, it looks messy

you're doing a lot of what I did a long time ago, except you're farther along in the coloring department than I was when I started switching things up :P

I draw gloves because they look awesome.  I tend to use fingerless gloves too, so it's not like the fingers are hidden.

And I only put my hands in my pockets in that drawing because... well.  That's where they always are when I'm wearing my jacket.

I guess I'll add a bit more.

Another older drawing, one of few done with ink and colored pencil

And the updated version of the sketch with the funny hands and clothes wrinkles.

For the record, this hair is... shortish.  It's short, but with a long ponytail in the back.

I don't think the finished version was done justice, but it looks okay in flat-color, but it shows off the shorter hair better.

And finished: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v250/DeathTrooper/Flare04-2.png
(The flat color is before size reduction)
Ooh, older drawings that have so many things wrong with them, it hurts!

I do tend to use long hair a lot though.

just saying, drawing different things will make you better.
(I drew fingerless gloves too, it gave me an excuse to not have to shape the fingers or the palms correctly, because "he's wearing gloves", not saying you are, just adding my 2c)

that being said, I like your flare one the most so far, however, I'd blend the shading a bit more.

*Cough* Which Flare one?  There are three different ones posted in this topic.

the colored ones, I thought the comment on shading would make that a bit more evident ;)

But there's Flare04, Flare05, and Flare06.

Also 2 different versions of both 4 and 6.

4 and 5 are both colored, and both have shading. 5 was the last picture in the first post, and 4 the linked one in the other post..!

Zylos

Flare 4-2 looks awesome to me. Older art or not, I like it.

I gotta say though, the Vortex one in your first post looks strangely familiar...

I'm not sure if I ever put that on dA or SA, but I can't really check if it's on my SA right now since it's refusing to load the gallery.  It has other drawings of the same character, the original ones (That are much much uglier).  That one and the other 2007 drawing in ink and colored pencil were done when I didn't have my computer, so that's why they're pretty much only hosted on my site.

If you've seen it before, perhaps we've met?

Actually it occurs to me I have some of them on photobucket...

That's one of the original drawings of Vortex, and one of few I've put on my SA page.

he was trying to say that the picture in the first post reminded him of his own persona, as you can see it in his avatar/sig.

I thought he was a fox? ~  Vortex is a thing that the censor turns into arctic fox But I guess.. they do look somewhat similar

Sophist

Don't think I forgot who this was made for:

also your coloring despite what may or may not be in the picture is superb

look at the black and white picture of 'vortex' in your first post
then look at his sig.

they look similar without the color, that's what he was saying.

Pretty fun =O

the second last one on the first post reminds me of Zylos, with the jacket -_o

and, well, the hair too, but still.

Seriously though, you have some talent going there.

Another quick drawing.  Was talking with my friend about making a comic with both of us using one of our characters.  So an alternate version of Flare for this purpose needs her own special clothes.

She does still have feet and two arms.  JUST NOTHING NEW TO SHOW THERE.
