in the beginning of my game i want to play as the hero but as a child.
do i need a script?

Umm no.

You can change the hero graphic at any time under Move Command, or alternatively, you could just make two actors, one as a child with child stats and one as an adult with adult stats, and then just switch them once you leave childhood.
