Ripping off the old "Ask a Stereotype" threads and Havick's "Ask the new guy something", it's...

ASK THE FURRY PHILOSOPHER!

I'm bored, so ask me any question that you want, either philosophy-related or not. Serious questions will get serious answers, and stupid questions will get stupid answers. Just make sure that I can tell the difference.

Begin!

Irock

Have you ever directed a film (and/or) had sex with a woman?

Zylos

Yes. I've even directed a film of me having sex with a woman.

Irock

Do you wear boxers, briefs, or other? (please specify)

Anyways, more questions!

Dertt

How do you argue a nihilistic concept without being self contradictory?

Zylos

#13
That would depend on what nihilistic concept you are trying to argue. Remember, there are many different categories of nihilism.

For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, see here.

Edit: Until Dertt clarify's his question, feel free to ask more questions!

Well by putting any sort of effort into argument is defying the most basic principle of all nihilism.

Not necessarily. Nihilism is not saying "there is no truth"; moreso they're saying "it impossible to know truth". There is no truth that cannot be doubted, and therefore there is no truth that we should put faith in, save for the realization that it is futile to search for what you cannot find.

I am furry and philosophical from any angle, on any day, in any place.

No, I like my cappuccino.

modern algebra

That's agnosticism, not nihilism :P

Nihilism is that there is no objective purpose in life, morality, etc... Wikipedia agrees.

Zylos

*goes back and reads textbook*

Yes, you're right, I got them mixed up (they were both on the same page). But the point is still similar. Truth in nihilism may exist, but is still unobtainable by mankind. This is according to both my textbook and wikipedia. Admittedly, nihilism is not one of my favorite areas of philosophy because I do not agree with it's ideas. So I don't know much more about it other than what is written in my book.

Now then, more questions (either serious or not)!

Dertt

The same question, with "nihilism" replaced by "solipsism."

Karo Rushe

Do you think I am Strange or is that normal? D:

I'll get back to you in the morning. While solipsism is a more familiar area for me, I'm too tired to double-check my facts right now.

Compared to a LOT of the people I know on other sites, you're actually pretty normal.
