Hello i was just wondering if there was any way to get rpg maker xp to work onto vista because my old computer is xp and it works fine but then i go to my new computer but it will not work even under compatability mode.  So if there is any solution to this please post me a reply or link.

yes there is.  There's a whole topic in here somewhere on RMXP and Vista.

It would be in this thread, entitled "The problem with Vista.  Check here before posting." ;)

In short, I had to set XP compatibility, make the exe run as administrator, and save all projects in somewhere other than c:\program files (where I installed the game itself).  I never had any issues - Vista Home Basic.

If that doesn't work, I'm sure there'll be something in that thread that will help you out.
