Thanks, you two!  I intend to finish this, no matter how long it takes.  I only have 7 pieces to go until I've completed the challenge, so I'm almost there. =)

Sophist

God those are beautiful, where have you been? ;__;

@Sophist - Busy with life, I suppose!  Nice to see you're still here. =)

There's a recurring theme on your pieces . . . and I like that. :> Amazing work and good to see you again Garygill

Nice to see you too!  What is the recurring theme, as you see it?

Acolyte

I wish I could paint like you. ;~;

garygill

Thanks, Acolyte.  One thing that is nice about the fact that I've been doing this slowly over 7 years is that you can actually go back and see how terrible I used to be.  Honestly, seeing some of the old pieces I submitted to this challenge is almost embarrassing.

I hope in another 7 years, the art I'm doing now will look terrible in comparison to the art I'll be doing then.  Getting good at painting takes a lot of time and patience, but I believe it's something anyone can do if they're willing to put in the dedication.

The use of a Fantasy settings, as a sort of 'backstory' on your pieces. The use of Personifying Animals in the setting in some of them, and the cute White Bear/Polar Bear (?) character appearing in most of them. And the Human characteristic each has gives life to it. I simply like it.

garygill

Ah, I see!  I love your analysis, thank you! =)

Oh, wow...those are breath-taking! :gracie: My favorite is "Understanding" and...whoa! Is there a guy watching them from the trees?! Just noticed that! o_o

I've seen your name and artwork around a lot, so it's nice to finally meet you! B)

Hi Yuyu!  You're the first person to notice the guy hiding in the trees without me pointing it out, congrats!

It's nice to meet you too. =)

Won't give up till I finish this challenge!  I've been busy with a full time job and various side projects, but I believe some of the stuff I've done over the past year fit in with some of the themes.  Hope you like it!

Ahh, you're still doing this!

They're all good, but I think Castle Stairs might be my favorite. You did a really good job at making the scene feel like a real place.

garygill

Hmmm, cool.  That is useful information for me because it helps me know where I'm succeeding as far as conveying the intended message or feeling.  Thanks, man!
