image size

what sizes do they have to be the characters and map sets. everytime i get a character or map and import it it says invalid image size

XP:

Charsets Standard: 121 x 187

Tilesets: 256 x 576 (or actually it can any size really, as long as they function and do not cut off at the end   )

what about for rpg 2003 is it the same?

For 2003: Char: 288 by 256
              I'm not sure about the tilesets though
