RPG Maker is Nigh

I have decided to give RPG Maker the boot. Yes that means im quitting OMG

Well i suppose you will all want reasons ...  :roll:

1. Its awesome, i love RM, and im good with it too OMG BIGHEAD but its taking up to much of my time. Im now thinking of it as a chore rather than a hobby, and its annoying.

2. Im SICK of USELESS noobs (95% of this site >.>).

3. The RPG Maker community as a whole is dying...

4. I just wanted an excuse to put 4...

Its just annoying now. I come home from work, and i sit on the computer. Ill put everything else off to make my game, but then i dont actually make the game, i just sit there and do fuck all for the night, forget it all, realise i hadnt worked on KF and think what a waste of time, and then its night time again and back to work and so on -.-

Same almost every night. Deathtrooper annoyed me on msn the other day. He said i have no life. I denied it, because he was wrong. But in the long run thats exactly how i was gonna end up.

And so thats it. This doesnt mean im leaving the forum , im not. Quite the opposite in fact. Itll give me more time to visit this place, and moderate it. I will give the occasional bit of support and stuff but im just gonna be like Silverline and stay because i love the place. This is the first forum i ever frequented and actually stayed in.

Anyway this site wont be RPG Maker forever OMG

As for my site. Well im gonna close it. For the simple reason that without Kingaran Fantasy, it will die. I do intend however to make a new site soon. I dont know when, but ill call it http://www.dwarra.net or something, so that its not descriptive and other stuff.

And thats all.. enjoy

Anyway, while I understand, I'm still sad to see the project go. It would have been good. Not to mention I had some good music in the works. But, oh well. At least you've inspired me to drop my game too.  :^^:

Oh dont get me wrong. Ive quit rpg maker but im gonna keep my site up, to see if its worth it... or not. Im still not sure. But the site could still grow to be a popular one... or not.

Think you may of gotten that a little mixed up dwarra (prepare for a very deep statement).

RPG Maker hasn't taken control of you, you have taken a control over it. Anyone who believes in their minds or finds that sitting down at a computer and building rpg games is considered a "chore" takes it way to seriously and more than likely takes it as a second (or even first job). There are no deadlines you need to meet (unless you publicly display a deadline, then you would have people say "is it done yet?"...ugh.) You are not being paid for working on the game, unless you decide to sell it when it's completed rather than offering it up for free.

This should be something done on spare time, and now you are going to trash something that you worked pretty hard on (IMO from your demo). Chill...chill...if you absolutely decide to scrap it then so be it. But I don't know why you would want to toss the game when you could possibly change your mind tomorrow, a week from now or a month from now, and want to start up on it again in your FREE time.

Needless to say no one is pulling your leg and your taking this thing way too seriously.    As for me, I have nothing else better to do with my time than spend it 24/7 on the computer. But after all, it is my new job and that's what I get paid to do.

I have a backup of my game from when I stopped making it ages ago stored somewhere online. It's still there I beleive.

That's how I feel about making music now sorta. I definitely can do it and make something presentable, but when the 30th request rolls around I'm more like -_- rather than =D.

mot you said you make a map per a day a while ago, so by now you should have about 150 maps...
isn't it time to show a new demo?
no? you still only got 10 maps? then guess what, it's time to dump the project.

gongo - i dropped it when i was here for a day, back then i had more event knowladge than 90% of the active members (after 2 weeks in rm)
this forums are just a fun way to pass the time...
so now me and zeriab are the only 2 people that i can see as eventers here(despite the fact that some people can make a message)
and i am like.. 3rd best scripter... (slipknot can't be counted as he is only here to show off a new version of his ams, so tsu take first, lacking any sign of scripts i can't be sure if zeriab is better or not but i think he is so maybe i am 3rd, still not bad)
as for resources.. well i can make semi-acceptable looking ones and i can recolour (yay...) so i guess i am on the "elite" cause this forums only got noobs so it's easy to get to "elite" lol

mapping... i am horrible... ok that's one area i simply can't say i got better at , in fact i got worse...
well that covers rm...

but you see, i learned it in 2 weeks, alone, i joined the forums and hardly touched rm ever since (excluding for helping)
so the sad tries to help other (which seem to be too ignorant) made me alot more skillful in alot of parts, it's fun improving and it's fun being one of the best around and almost every area...
so that's why i keep coming, sometimes the questions are actually hard

you know whats sad though? most people who keep using rm for months in this forums don't seem to be able to reach the "elite" group
my guess? they are just twats -.-

Thats very true, I'm mostly on Photoshop and rarely on RPG maker, like last time I was on was 4 months ago XD.

Some times it does get annoying doing the database again and again.
But, well good luck with ur site and have fun.
And its bad to know  that you're quitting.
