Can you transfer a PK game into the legal version?

I feel really bad that I'm using PK and would like to switch. However, I don't know if the file will still work in the legal version. Will it?

im 95% sure, that the pk game will work on the legal version.
but i am 95% sure that a legal game will not work on the pk version.

this is because, the legal version is more compatable with stuff.
