I assure you there is justice. Somewhere in the US a month ago there were two teens that basically cooked a dog in their oven, then they showed the neighborhood children. One of the kids told, the cops came, there were scratches inside the oven as proof the dog was still alive. Anyway, the teens got 10 years in prison. Not juvinile hall, but prison :-)

People (Humans) have been killing one and another through-out history, it's just some things now in this modern world sicken us more so as it's unexpected.

Take the Kids cooking a dog in the oven... People in Vietnam do that every day, do they get locked up ?
(It's only as we have domesticated the dog and rather than seeing it as what it is, an animal... we see it as a member of the family with rights ?)... Not saying what they done wasn't cruel, it was, but at the same time a dogs life is not worth 10 years of that of a Human.

People kill things including other people some times to feel closer to God or having God like powers, to end life.  Some times watching some ones life ebb away from them fills people with a great sense of being alive.  When you watch a film with lots of action in or real epic battles (like 300) it helps to show you what life and death may have been like back in those times and there is a very slim line between the two, once faulse move and your dead.

Life is a fickle thing, it's very fragile...

Some things I see in the news of today are nothing compared to those through-out history... Try reading about the Inca's or the Aztec's... One of those two tribes used to get a Girl that's just turned 16, every man in the village sleeps with her, then they skin her alive and wear her skin and dance around the village to please their Gods...

We are the only creatures known to kill one another for reasons other than our own survial... You don't see bottle nose dolphins killing Black dophins for swimming in their waters...

People say that the thing that separates humans from other animals is our ability to make conscious decisions, based on a moral compass. I personally believe what sets us apart is our ability to become delusional. I guess that would be why there are things wrong with some people.

Um, animals do fight all the time. They are always turf battles and mate battles. Cheeteas (sry can't spell) beat the shit out of each other if you come in there terriotory. apes, chimps, and other monkeys always have turf battles. They raid other monkies turfs and have huge fight. They take there enemies kill them and then eat them. I guess it is our nature, not nuriture.

But what you are banging on about is very common with chimpanzees where groups of adult males have been observed to attack and consume their infants... Many creatures kill and eat their young, or downed or weaker members of their own kind.

I don't see Cannibalism as Evil... I mean if you was alone on an island starving along side a friend and they died before you, you would eat them... or at least most would.

Whats to figure out?  I, for one, never said people are nice.  They found the twisted off head of a 4 month old toddler in the bottom of a Tokyo parking lot a while back, now that would be something you wouldn't soon forget.

You can't kill squirrels OR kids. It's shocking enough when you read about two 11 year old kids robbing an old lady in her 80's.

If you think about it...do things like this happen in the wild? A lion would gladly kill the cub of a rival pride right? Maybe all this insane killing/robbing/whatever is a hidden instinct in the human brain? I think I'm coming onto a good theory!
