The entire game isn't ruined. The aural part of it is. It means every time I lose I'm going to want to rip my ears off, and every time I win I'm going to want to rip my ears off.

So there's an Exclusive review up for Brawl.
I skipped it for the comments, remembering the hilarious backlash against the "low" score of 8.8 given to Twilight Princess.
Brawl got a 9.5, yet people were STILL complaining about it.
Thats just hilarious, in the saddest, most aggravating way possible.

This thread really has no purpose beyond that, unless people would like to add in their own opinions about fanboyism in relation to reviews, the fidelity of IGN's review(er)s, or thoughts on the score.

Nintendo Power gave Brawl a 10 out of 10, the 6th game to be given a perfect score, the other 5 being:
    * The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
    * The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
    * Super Mario Sunshine (GCN)
    * Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)
    * Resident Evil 4 (GCN)
Not even Super Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess got 10 out of 10.

Nintendo Power magazine is a monthly news and strategy magazine formerly published in-house by Nintendo. As of issue #222 (December 2007), Nintendo contracted publishing duties to Future US.

But it's not like they're being told what to put in there. It's the magazine's own opinion.

As far as SSBB goes (see how I got back on topic? I'm so smooth :3) it isn't perfect either. It has its problems. This is obvious even before I've played the game.

That being said - it will probably be the best game of the year. :3
