Me + New Update = Me disappointed.
The music update was okay. It leads me closer to believing that there might be no Animal Crossing rep. "Of course, there is no X stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but this time, the songs in Smash Bros. aren't limited only to those series represented by characters and stages."

But THIS is from Animal Crossing.
Yes, but he's an assist trophy. I'm talking about a playable character. ^_-

Well maybe you should just be thankful for what you get!

:taco:
Very true ^^
But I could care less about Animal Crossing characters being in it...
HOWEVER: My idea is that there is the character, and the costumes for it are Male and Female.

I am so sick of these shitty updates.
He could just not give us daily updates at all, like every other game under development.

Wouldn't make a difference to me with the way things are now. I mean, it's not like the last few weeks of updates have been worth anything at all.

Yossy

They don't have much choice but to post filler updates, since the release date was pushed back by two months.

So we get two more months of boring updates!  YAY!!

Yossy

Yeah, they could have stopped updating on the 3rd, is that what you want??  HUH?!  IS IT?!

I agree.
I'm sure they have tons more good updates to give us, more than two months. I'm positive.
Come on, where are all the 3rd party enemy characters? God, let's hope they don't turn every 3rd party character into assist trophy's, like they did with Gray Fox. How cool would it be to play Brawl as Gray Fox?
I liked the idea of assist trophy's at first, but now they seem just like fillers and items that have no meaning what so ever except to tease fans of maybe, just maybe...we might be able to play as them in Super Smash Bros.
Thanks Nintendo.

THIS is why I love my Wii modchip, I don't have to wait for a PAL release. :tpg:

EDIT: That got me thinking, 360s can play NTSC and PAL games, while Wii can only play the games depending on the region (unless you have a modchip), so....

Could it be that they are holding it back for that reason?

Probably...

I love today's update!
Well...the end of it anyway:

And there is one more important thing...

When you have a battle mode that runs online like Basic Brawl, the problem of what to do with hidden characters arises. If one of your opponents chooses a character you haven't unlocked yet, it will be spoiled for you immediately.

But even without this mode, given the proliferation of the Internet these days, the existence of hidden characters is going to get exposed anyway.

So, this time I'm moving in the direction of not being too hung up on hidden characters.

You can earn most characters by playing through Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary. For those of you who look forward to those encounters, I recommend you clear this mode before playing Basic Brawl.

And as the case has always been, I've made it so you can play the characters you unlock in battles.

Could that mean....he's going to start releasing more characters!?!?!?!?!

I think it just means it will be easier to get the hidden characters. Rather than, say, play VS. mode for 8000000 hours to get one. It also sounds like there won't be as many hidden characters, and you'll just have them from the start.

That's the impression I got, although I can't say I'd like that too much.

That's not really what I took from it at all really. All he is saying is that versus matches won't be cancelled if you don't have a character an opponent is using. I don't think seeing the character online will unlock it for you. And I think there will be a bunch of hidden characters.

haloOfTheSun

That's not what I meant.

I wasn't talking about the online matches at all.

Yeah but I still think that line is in regards to the online matches and not trying to keep hidden characters a deep dark secret from the world.

SirJackRex

There were heaps of hidden characters in Melee, so I wonder what
Quote from: MondaySo, this time I'm moving in the direction of not being too hung up on hidden characters.
that could mean...

chewey

I don't think he means hung up on hidden characters themselves but rather getting hung up on hidden characters getting revealed straight away (internet, magazines, online battles etc.).

Yossy

That's what I'm pretty sure it means, too, but it was phrased in a somewhat confusing manner.
