What if there was SNOW ON THE BATTLEFIELD?! I just had this awesome idea that they should have put awesome weather effects. Like have snow on the ground that all plumed when you landed or rain and ect. It would be awesome, but it seems way too late.

It might be in there, and they just haven't announced it because they don't know if they'll keep it.

Here's a thought: What happens when someone figures out how to mod a smash brothers game?

...Do they realize how much money they could make if they supplied the tools to do that?

That, is something I would buy.
Get crackin' homie.

100TH DOJO UPDATE
This game supports Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. If you connect your Wii to the Internet, you can enjoy linked battles with distant people!

For details, click Here.

But because this form of communication is greatly affected by the distance between you and your opponent, your brawls may not run smoothly if you're really far apart—like, for instance, if you're connecting between Japan and America.

The more distant you are, the worse your connection becomes, and the slower it feels. I apologize, but I hope you understand.

This is the main menu for Wi-Fi!

There are two primary connection methods. The names of these methods are "With Friends" and "With Anyone." The menus and structures of each method are pretty different.

With Friends
Wii friends who have registered one another's names can play together freely.

Register your friends!

If you're registered as friends, you can check each other's status. If a friend is online and you earn his or her consent, you can enter a battle.

You can change your icon...

And even send short messages during brawls!

These short messages are entered in advance, and you send them by taunting. There are four messages for the four directions on the + Control Pad: Up, down, left and right.

With friends, you can brawl any way you like. And there are other modes besides just free-for-alls.

With Anyone
You can also battle with people you don't know who are looking for brawls. The most important point here is that you will not know each other's names.

If you think of your opponent as a simple scarecrow, any psychological barriers may melt away.

Your opponent will not know your name or any information about you, and neither of you can send short messages. There will also be no battle records kept for this mode, so whether you win or lose, it doesn't matter. Just sit back and play.

Now, while you're waiting for a match to start, you can kill time with a little practice on Sandbag.

Practice, practice!

We're planning a number of services that make use of Wi-Fi, but we'll reveal them gradually with the other modes. Enjoy.

Sonofabitch.  This is AWESOME!  It'll be kinda annoying never knowing which random people your playing against, but at least with this system I won't get addicted to online Brawl and spend hundreds of hours ranking up.

Irock, when this game comes out, lets scrap

See my "Wish Me Luck" Thread, Im pretty dam serious about SSBM
So when I get SSBB I will kill ALL OF YOU

TeaBag

Hahaha.. I'm so L337 I don't need practice.  In my prime I could beat down 3 lv. 9s without any items or anything.  I haven't played melee in more than a year, but I won't even touch it till I get Brawl and you can all get smacked down by raw awesomeness.  I think I'll go with Fox, or maybe Kirby if hes back to N64 kick-ass mode.

Why should we have a 1-on-1 anyway?  Lets have a 4 for all when this comes out.

Really? I just did that. I look forward to playing you. You better bring your top tier Fox along with you.

biohazard

3 level 9s huh?  You better be talking team against you, or it doesnt mean shit.  I can beat 2 level 9s on a team vs me right now.  Marth is great.

Definantly a team against me. Otherwise you could just hang back while they do the fighting.

3 lv. 9s on a team against me, could win with pretty much every char.. even Jigglypuff. (I play 5 stock match, so 5 lives for me and 5 for each of them, no items) My greatest achievement was beating 3 lv. 9s on a team with them at 9 handicaps and me with like handicap 3 or something on Final Destination.  That was DAMN HARD.

BTW Just to clarify, boasting like this is the complete opposite of nerdy.  My balls feel bigger already.  :)

Pfft. Anyone could do that.
* Biorock kicks back in his chair, drinks a super soda, and plays an MMORPG he happens to be good at, and when he kills someone it makes him feel better about himself, as if he had accomplished something that the world will look back on and say, "Wow...what a great man."

Also, why not, Iceflame? Scared? >:D

Scared? >:D
of being completely humiliated because I couldn't last one minute (or 30 seconds)?  probably not, I'm used to it by now.  If I ever did use the wifi it'd be if someone was going to help me get better.  Right now my limit is two lvl 5's, maybe a 5 and a 6, not teamed.  I've been playing for the past week and seem to be getting worse... ;9  I really wanna unlock the Final Destination stage but I still just can't seem to get past Majora's mask and some other event matches... ;9

I did kill giga bowser and crazy hand though...both in Normal difficulty but still something.  I know, nothing to hold a candle to you people, but it's a landmark for me.

*wishes he'd gotten the gamecube three years ago instead of five months ago*

Practice, you can get good by December. You have over two months.

TeaBag

whatever, I envy that you get to play melee for the first time now and get a sequel in a few months.  To be honest I probably suck now anyway, and even back then I had more fun playing like a silly retard then like "training" or anything.  Did anyone else:

1.) suicide carry people off the stages as dk
2.) suck people in and spit them out underneath the stages as kirby?
3.) egg poop people off the stages as yoshi?

I find that kinda stuff hilarious.

I've done it before, when I was bored.
Have you preformed the tiny Yoshi glitch/easter egg?

biohazard

You guys, thats kids stuff.  Play as your shittiest character, spam moves, and have items on very high with all on.  Hyrule castle map is the best, underground fight arena is infini life.

dude, it's also hilarious when you "dive-bomb" backwards off the edge of the stage with kirby when you grab someone.  I tried that with Yoshi but they always manage to get back to the edge of the stage... <_<  and yeah kirby, I found a strategy for quick wins,
suck them in near the edge of the stage, walk off the stage as fast as possible.  For small stages like Dream Fountain or Battlefield you fall to the bottom sooner and by that time they free themselves and fall faster than kirby...
probably obvious and noob-ish but it's fun to see how many times you can do it.

Hyrule castle map is the best
