Official Super Smash Bros Brawl Thread (GAME RELEASED)

This is very original to the smash series. A move that requires you to leave the stage and launch something from an almost first person perspective? That's pretty interesting.

anyway back on the topic say whatever you want, tiers are in brawl.
I asked around 8 smashers(posted some pics up) they all say so.

no tiers =

Same Speed
Same Recovery
Same Weight
Same Range
All Got Projectiles
Same Way To Combo
Same Lag Time
Same Power

of course the team can't do that for every characters. so let's say every of theese stats is on 10. of course every characters can't have the same stats. so you guys are saying the team will balance the ''stats'' between each characters. I totally agree, this is what they're doing, and this is what it's gonna happen. there won't be joke characters like pichu anymore.

HOWEVER, tiers are still gonna be there. All the characters can't be played the same way. Let's say Ken And Ryu from steet fighter. pretty equal right? if there's a tournament and Ken wins over Ryu, then the tier list is gonna be Ken>Ryu.

It's ''gay'' I guess, but that's how it is. that's why the tier list in melee changes often and is always top then drops to high then climbs back to top etc etc. marth is on top because of Ken. Pc Chris = Falco. Mew2king = Fox

and btw Link, Smash Bros counts. why does it count? it's the whole reason i'm writting this fucking piece of shit

There are obviously going to tiers, otherwise everyone would be the same boring grey blob, and it wouldn't matter which character you pick, because they would all be exactly the same. If that was the case, they might as well call it "Super Smash Single Child" and only have one character.

The only thing Sora LTD can do is try to balance out the characters more, but not remove tiers completely. Besides, tiers normally don't make THAT much of a difference.

I'm happy that I can't call brawl SSB2 or SSBM2. it's really SMASH BRAWL. Daaaaamn I just CAN'T WAIT!!!

Indeed Irock, Tiers doesn't do that much of a difference. A low tier can rape a high-top tier.
I'm starting to main a bottom tier in SSB online and still rape pretty much everyone LOL

If the source is to be trusted, it's confirmed that Zelda doesn't transform into Sheik.

Anyone care to estimate the odds of Sheik appearing as a seperate character entirely?  :3  My guess is that that chance is pretty high... he was a very popular character.

In japan, apparently, the original Sheik was a man, but in the USA crossover he was changed to a female (cuz USA don't like gender-crossing idea for Princess Zelda)...basically they just changed her visible eye to differentiate.  And in OoT Princess Ruto says she was saved "by a man named sheik" and I JUST beat that part so I was kinda shocked to see that... I've had at least five friends tell me this, I'm looking for a source but seeing how they're all telling me the same thing I'm guessing it's a fact.

if they kick Sheik out, screw them.  Sheik is one of the best characters.  She'd better be in there.

and on this tiers thing...it seems to be all majority-accepted personal preference as to what character is better than another.  I can't play worth crap with Mario but I can kick ass with Marth (relatively speaking, seeing how I'm way out of practice recently)...wherever there's personal preference there's gonna be tiers.  When you have variations with stats, it's gonna be there.

and I'm confused...why captain olimar?  I've never even HEARD of Pikmin... (then again I don't hear of much of anything)

Start up Melee.  Play as Shiek.  Pause the game.  Look at Shiek.  Guys don't have figures like that.  Listen to her shooting star cry and other voice effects.  that's clearly a girl, though with a slightly deeper voice than the Princess's. 

and having to study figure-drawing for my next semester, and having played through much of OoT, her build is too feminine for me to be convinced she's a guy.

It does absolutely no damage—it's just for sending opponents great distances. You can even charge it up while shielding. It's best used in critical moments.

Lol the snake thing looks awsome, but i think it would of been better to use a more iconic weapon such as the farmas, or nakita (have no idea how to spell those) as im sure the grenade launcher came in the 2nd mgs on the ps2.

Captain Olimar's moves look so awesome, I just love unique characters like that.  I'm also greatly looking forward to playing as the Pokémon Trainer for the same reason.


I refer to Sheik as a dude because despite the fact that he and Zelda are the same person, they're generally considered two seperate characters.  You spend most of Ocarina of Time believing that Sheik is a boy, so at least in my opinion, the character of Sheik is male.

SORRY for not being a hardcore gamer, but about half of games out there I have probably never heard of.  and don't rant on me for that, I just don't have interest in knowing exactly what games are out and when.  I just play what I like and that's that.  (btw, would it surprise you to know that I've hardly heard of Snake before I heard of him in brawl?  chew on that for a while)

back on subject...yes, link, that would make more sense if they did that, but still, it goes boom and does damage.  And Snake already has the Nikita as one of his moves.

Captain Olimar's gonna take some time to get used to...I'd like to see someone clear a mode with him using one pikmin.  probably possible, but all the same...wonder how long it'll take before someone does that...maybe even NO pikmin

The point is: Sheik may have been awesome in Melee but that does mean she will be in Brawl. If she was included in Brawl then she would be severely nerfed.

Along with that, Mario is better overall in Brawl.

Oh, I meant. It's ANCIENT Down + b(tornado) I wonder what will be the button combinaison for it now..

Also, Indeed, I heard that Sheik won't be in brawl( not too sure ). Gay if so.
