She got kind of trashy and none of her stuff sounded any different than the other.

That didn't suck. I'm surprised. Pillows, not Siouxsie... Siouxsie is always good.
What, because it's Japanese you expected it to suck? The Pillows are great, they've been constantly releasing new albums since 1991. That song's from 1999.

But I do get that it's shocking to hear a band like them from Japan.

EDIT: Play from 4:04. That's track 2, and it's my favorite.

My kind of music. Delicious secondary dominants, and goofy, unexpected changes and rhythms. :)

I'm a big fan of The Pillows' discography in general; they make some amazing stuff.

This is one of my favorites right now:

Arrow

[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEANHnqiyrU[/yt]

Off the ceiling and onto the dance floor
Flashing colors are shimmering bright
As she watches him move, to her delight

Like a tiger she waits in advance for
Her attack when the moment is right
In the jungle of laser beams, tonight

Follow me / Follow me!
Your love is callin' me! Callin' me!
Take hold of me,
Like a sorceror controllin' me
Couldn't be any clearer
Upon my magic mirror, I can see
Your true nature callin' me.

In a matter of moments she'll seize him
Like a lioness out of a dream
Gettin' ready to pounce with all her might

Like a kitten with yarn, she will tease him
Have him comin' apart at the seams
As they dance in the laser beams tonight

Follow me / Follow me!
Your love is callin' me! Callin' me!
Take hold of me,
Like a sorceror controllin' me
Couldn't be any clearer
Upon my magic mirror, I can see
Your true nature callin' me.

ARE YOU ACCUSING ME OF RACISM?!? Cuz I never race unless absolutely needed.
No, I thought it would suck because zacheatscrackers posted it. I found him to be irritating in his first few posts, but perhaps I was mistaken.

EDIT: Actually, I've been to Japan and I still maintain freindship with one of my Iai-Do classmates' family. If I was going to live anywhere other than the USA, I'd pick either Sweden or Japan.

Irritating? D:

Well, I assure you that I'm not the type that thinks every subject warrants an "LOL FUNE" type post. I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. I enjoy my share of goofing around, but I definitely know when to put a cork on it. I'm also not a fan of "annoying ironic satifunny" music by any means, outside of maybe having a quick laugh at it for a bit, even though I might have given off that impression from a few of my posts.

Anyways:

Can't get enough of this artist. They're coming out with a new album and i'm way too excited, their debut album was off the wall and this song is unlike a lot of music I've ever heard. If you haven't heard of them, give this one a spin.

I've been hooked on this album lately. The rhythm section of this band is nuts although the bass player does synth in this song.

That was highly entertaining. I'll have to explore them.

I was trying to show my friend that album the other night and he hated it. Wayne Cohen doesn't do himself justice at all in the music videos.

I used to listen to them, years and years ago. There's definitely something special about them, but I always felt it was all very unpolished. Maybe I'd like it more if I gave it another try now.

I LOVED this song, though. It's so just bizarre.
[yt]7ge5BoOOhCo[/yt]
Dat bass, and those lyrics...

:tinysmile::tinysmile:

That's one of my favorites ;o
I think being unpolished actually helps make the music feel a little more genuine sometimes. When everything is played spot on and it's mixed and mastered to perfection it can feel a little processed, but that's just me.

God the first time I saw that video I was freaking the fuck out, such a upbeat song with such a terrifying video.

This song is really boss, during the last bridge is some good shit.
