It's been so many years since I first heard it and it still doesn't get old.

I'm really looking forward to this album.

But I'm still not crazy about their pianist. Kelly Sciandra was absolutely amazing, and so much more fluid and relaxed and nuanced than the new guy is. Kelly really knew how to get a dynamic range out of a piano, and how to play with the sustain pedal, and the new guy just doesn't do it as well, he's clearly too used to playing an electronic piano with unnatural or no velocity feedback or sustain.

I also really, really like how he plays ambiguous, clustery chords, and always find the right moment to throw in a little fill without being obtrusive. It was such an iconic sound in the first albums, and it's not as present in the new ones.

Any particular recommendations by them? I've never heard 'em before, but I like how they sound from the first video you linked.

Malson

Their first album was a 6-song EP, and that's the one I enjoy the most even though they've come a long way since then.

Their second album was released on a major record label, and you can tell.

Their third album was probably their most unconventional, but it's refreshing to hear that level of diversity.

Their fourth album was an entire 8-bit remix of their third album.

Their fifth album just released yesterday, apparently, and that's the album that contains the song I linked to. I haven't listened to it yet but it's Kindo so I'm sure it's great.

Washed Out is extremely hit or miss with me, I absolutely love some of his songs and despise the rest and I have no idea why.
Dig that one though

A parody of a Thai music video. I laughed my ass because of this video.

You should check out the new album (that just came out). It's more fleshed out than the other ones, more consistent.

I love how intense they've gotten in this album. It was something I really liked about the first EP that I didn't notice a whole lot of since.

Also that homage at like 2 minutes in is really cool of them.
