Designing a Tactics Style Game

Hi my name is Ryan I'm a beginner at RPG Maker XP and was wondering about a few things. First off, I would like to become a Tactics style game designer but I'm not sure if thats possible with XP. So would you guys know if it is, if so could you help me a bit with some tuts? Would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No it wasn't really. What I'm wanting to do is make tactics games like this:

With the grid and so on.
