Demon X

Is it legal to sell RPGs created with RMXP that use the standard RTP?

Enterbrain has stated on their site that they do not want people to sell RMXP games, oddly they have no issues with selling games made with 95,2k and 2k3.

Demon X

It is legal to sell games according to the site:

? Distribute Your Games

Save your completed game as a game disk and you can burn it onto a CD-ROM to give to your friends or distribute it over the Internet for other gamers to enjoy. You can even market your creations as shareware.

But what I need to know is are RTP games sellable too?

The standard RTP is part of RMXP, which means yes you can.

Blizzard

Yes, you can sell it. You only may not sell the RTP itself, most probably you can include it, but you should state that it can be obtained for free and where. Also you have to give full credit to Enterbrain, because you used the RTP and the RGP Maker Engine.

As long as all the things in the game are made by you, and by Enterbrain, there should be no trouble.

Demon X

Perfect! Now I can get some cash for the RPG I am working on, when I eventually finish it...

It better be better than my own game which is currently one of the best demos out there. I would be really pissed if you can sell you game and I can't, even though mine is better. >:( (partially j/k =P)

The fact that people actually think some one would pay for a game made with RM infuriates me. You can try to make money off an RM game, but all you will do is fall flat on your face.

This subject will ALWAYS piss me off. So I'm most likely not going to say anything more because I don't need to be pissed off by foolishness.

Demon X

Aveyond sold well...

My game is already miles better than Aveyond IMO!

I'm not really with the idea of selling creations unless they are 100% custom, I just don't know why I don't like the idea.

(ZOMG I REMOVED ~Winged)

I totally agree. If they there are not 100% custom graphics and music, it shouldn't be attempted to sell the game. =/

It is legal. Just frowned upon by this site.

Why not learn to become a really good spriter and sell sprites? I know a bunch of desperate faggots at hbgames.org who are dishing 50USD+ for a single sprites. (Creator of Aveyond, Wings...etc.
