Lol, changed my pass, that ass!

During the break between two lessons I went to the toilette and my friend changed my acc pass on my laptop during that time. I came back and he asked me to restart it to see my log on screen (I use a log on skinner, that's why). I only used the User switch and when I tried to get into it again... "WTF?! My pass doesn't work?!" And he was giggling... (-_-')

He said: "Want me to tell you?"
I said: "Asshole... Heeeeeeey...

I'll just hax it.

"
He was like: "WTF? How?!"

I just restarted my laptop, booted it in safe mode and logged on the super admin acc. Then I force-changed the acc pass to my original account. And he was just like (-_-'), in other words PWNT! xD

Of course not. I'm a funny guy with a lot of humor, lol! He even told me the pass, while I was logging on into the super admin account, but I wanted to prove him, he can't mess with me, lol!

smart thinking i never would of thought of something like that. if it was me i would no doubt just annoy him to get the pass or figure something out lol. takes time but meh would MAYBE pay off

i dont usually go in safe mode lol,i usually just ask my sis to come help fix my pc when ever i do have problems(which is only once XD)

Stupid how many people never set an administrator pass when they're installing XP, so you can just log in as "Administrator" with no pass :/

You can get into any windows account anyway, password or not with a tool such as ERD Commander.

Know what would be cool? A program (for number passwords) that would input every possible combination of digits (say 8, but you could change that number) until it found a working password.

DOWNSIDE: Bank accounts and credit cards would be DOOMED.

Are you silly? Programs like that have existed for years.

That's why after so many wrong attempts (for my bank's online banking, 2 wrong tries and you're locked out for a week) stuff locks you out.

You can piss msn users who use hotmail adresses by trying to login to their hotmail accounts 10 times. Get it wrong and they can't login to hotmail or msn for 24 hours.

Plus the time and cpu power needed to try those billions of passwords. It's something like 4 years for an MD5 hash of a 12 character password, accounting for moore's law (basically accounting for the fact that PCs will get progressively more powerful)

At least I did. And BTW, he was only able to change my pass because he knew it and I was already logged on. -.-

@A1: Lol, the core of such a program can be made within minutes.

And Silverline is very right. Let's say a PC can test a million combinations in a second. That would take one million seconds to hack into an account with a 12 digit pass. I'll leave the calculation up to you to calculate how much one million seconds are in days. And now image there would be 2 more digits, what means 100 times more combinations and 100 times more time needed. =P
