wait you want to get rid of Norton right....its hard to get rid of it believe me, just using add/remove won't do the whole trick. I suggust Bitdefender AV

I hate Norton. And here is just one of the reasons why:

Norton: "You have a virus."
Me: "Ah damn! Oh, well, just clean it away then." *clicks*
Norton: "Go to symantec.com and download an virus removal tool."
Me: "WTF?! WHY THE HELL DON'T YOU JUST REMOVE IT YOURSELF?!"

yes using safe mode(logged in as admin), with comand prompt, bring up the System tasks manager, click file new task, then browse for the file you know has the virus. delete it. done
