Dissolution: An overview

Dark Eternal: Dissolution, part I of a II part saga, is a cintematic 2D rpg designed in the RMXP engine. It chronicles the journey of 'Danis', a mysterious duelist who was found washed ashore in north western Nikotha by Brian, a local vagrant and troublemaker to the people of 'Domna', a forest community rooted deep in Nikothian territory. Brian learns that Danis has lost his memory, and decides to join him as a guide in Danis' new quest to discover his past identity.

Dark Eternal: Dissolution has been in development since December '04, and now over a year later, the final version is to be released in the coming week. Along with a slew of changes, some of the major additions to the game include a brand new message system, featuring a higher resolution skin and face graphics, 6 additional sidequests and minigames, many additional cutscenes and story sequences throughout the game, over 150 redesigned maps, an extended ending and much more.

Game is Rated: Mature (Alcohol refrences, marijuana refrences, adult themes, mild profanity)

For more information, please visit Dissolution's official website at http://www.zenosoft.net.

Dissolution: Prolouge

Nearly 3000 years have passed since the seperation of the realms. The Void, The Living and the Dormant. Our story takes place on the planet Norturne, a place where The Living realm flourished in a post-dark ages renissance of sorts, hosting a plethora of different forms of life and resources. Although the three known nations of Norturne, 'Arnia', 'Nikotha' and 'Daerok' are constantly bickering with one another, a war has not been seen by the citizens of Norturne in recent history. All is not as grand elseware, however, in the Dormant realm. Although the Dormant realm is much more advanced in terms of technology and and scientific discovery, it suffers from corrupt dictatorships and constant war. Due to all of the advances made on Norturne in the 'Dormant realm', they also suffer from lack of resources and polluted air supply.

Dissoultion begins with a seemingly normal young man called, 'Danis', floating ashore in northern Nikotha unconcious. He is later discovered by a local Vagrant named, 'Brian', and after a short discussion, Brian decides to help Danis find his lost past. Danis and Brian will travel through a slew of different regions and citys, all the while meeting many friends and foes along way, on their path to discover the secrets of Danis' dark past. Dissolution is Part I of II, meaning it is more accuratly half of a full length game. Dissolution takes place mostly in the Living Realm of Norturne, with an ending that will leave most people who finish the game with more questions than answers.

GilgameshRO

It certainly sounds good, I'll post what I think after playing it.

Doyora

Funky. When I can, I'll download it. But one question: the first character's weapons are "talins". What's a talin?
Awwww yeah.

Zenogias

See Talim's weapons from Soul Calibur series.

Zenogias

Quotesometimes i can't see my character when im at the bottom of the screen...

hmm? Can you give me an example of this? I don't quite get what you mean.

Malson

I think he means the fog is so thick at the bottom that it completely obscures the sprite.

Zenogias

The highest fog opacity I used period is 128, but generally from 32 to 96.. Theres no way any fogs should obscure vision of the characters in a normal gameplay situation.

There was, however, a bug in an older version that made the cutscene bars stick around after you left the first town, but that bug fixes itself after the chronic wood. (Fixed in the current version.)

Dalmar

First off I apologize for posting here first. It's customary to introduce ones self but this game really caught my eye.
I was browsing the forum and I must say a lot of the games look great and there are some promising projects in the works. I could learn a lot here. Anyway I really want to check this game out but it doesn't appear to be available anymore. Is there still a way I can get it?

Blizzard

It´s a game worth playing. Check out the first post. Zenogias has put a link there to his forums. You can ask there.

GilgameshRO

I probably still have it. It looked promising, but I was actually a bit dissapointed with it myself.

Blizzard

I personally think it was quite ok. Better than many other RM games to be honest.

Tsunokiette

Lol. Small things count.

If I remember correctly I got stuck at one part lol.
I was way too weak.

It reminds me of FFXII actually lol, my characters are way behind the characters of other people at the same part I'm at. They had trouble lol, I didn't.

It's kind of strange lol.

Anyways, yes, this is a great game.
"The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is Tiggers are wonderful things
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs

They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is I'm the only one, I'm the only one."

Blizzard

He likes us more than hbgames.org! :O

Ericmor

I remember playing the first version, some time ago... great, GREAT musical development here. I have to ask: you have rights to all the soudtrack? You did the music yourself with a band or something? The farther i did was converting the rmxp mids and some mids of mine with finale, and sometimes the mp3 didn't go so well... you used recorded analog instruments?
Congratulations on a well finished title  :D
I need some real WORKING AVI script in RMXP!
