Help Please

I'm making a game where you shoot enemies as you walk around the map.  But I don't know at all how to do this!

You can help me, or tell me to quit now.

I already have the guns ready, press shift to shoot, you hear a different noise when your out of bullets, press a to reload, then shoot some more.  But how do I make the enemies get damage?

Also, how can I show the "Bullets Remaining in Clip" on the screen?
