Is this a real/serious contest? Because, uh, $10,000 sounds pretty damn good and I'd definitely get off my lazy ass to make the best damn game I possibly can if I have a genuine shot at it. ._.

Mmhmm ... the contest is certainly real. But, you must be the owner of or have a licence for any graphics, music and so on used in the game. I would not mind collaborating on a team.

Well apparently you're allowed as many people on a team as you'd like, and you're even allowed to make your own personal game on the side. I've already got pacman on my team, but I'd certainly welcome any other help.

This is where I would recommend the humble bundle for anyone who hasn't gotten it yet. It comes with a ton of free music and other odds and ends, license included.

I couldn't join the team, but certainly you could use anything that I've ever made in the project if you are going to use RPG Maker. Also, I might be able to write one or two scripts if you need them. I'll have to see if my job quiets down.

The best way, in my opinion, would be to communicate via irc on #rmrk.

I could also be persuaded to use skype, though I'd have to be persuaded really hard.

I've set up a dropbox folder for us to use if you guys want to pm me your emails.
