Stupid Java.

Basically all the Java apps that are on websites give me a NoClassFoundException, and for some reason, running Java 7 on my computer fucks up using CVS Repositories on Eclipse (something to do with the HTTP protocol, maybe, from what I could gather on the internet) or just crashes Eclipse; I forget what situation creates what. I think it normally crashes Eclipse but trying to manually set he protocol makes Eclipse work but not CVS Repositories.

SO, for a shot in the dark: if anybody knows how to fix this, I would much appreciate your help. I keep on seeing shit about CLASSPATH and PATH, but I keep setting it to shit and it don't work :nad:

There is a critical, unpatched security hole open in java right now, being massively exploited all over the place. If for some reason you have java enabled (why?!? even without security issues), you might have been gotten by it.

i thought that exploit was fixed a while ago? i remember them releasing a security update. anyway, try updating your java.

I fixed my java with some hazelnut flavored creamer and a packet of real sugar.

Honestly, I got nothin'.

Has nothing to do with that. If anything, the problems I'm having protect me from that because Java doesn't work on my browser. I decided to try completely uninstalling Java and reinstalling regardless.

EDIT: Didn't work. Still get errors that Java is bleh. Testing Java at here says it can't detect Java and stuff.

Grafikal

pretty sure the hole is still there. Updated Java yesterday and my antivirus caught shit immediately.

If your browser is worth its salt then it shouldn't allow the java plugin to run. It still hasn't been patched.

Don't know. As far as I know, it hasn't been working for ever, but I don't know if Chrome's been doing that because of the Java problems or whatnot. I guess I'll find out some other time... Still having stupid issues with trying to run my .jar files though.
