Getting Scared

This is really weird. First I can't change my background in Windows 7, so I go to this appdata folder and delete a file that was supposedly causing the problem. Problem solved. Except now I can't create new themes in Windows 7 because the "Unsaved Theme" that used to appear every time I changed the background has suddenly disappeared. There is no longer an "Unsaved Theme" option. It stays on the last theme I selected even if I change the background.

Not only that, but now my Intel Wi Fi Technology Adapter is telling me "No Adapter Found". Lol wut? But I'm online. o.o

Also, even though I deleted all of my browser history and removed book marks, facebook still remembers the login... to somebody else's account. Wtf? I've logged in several times since then with my own account!

Also, it's taking especially long to get started. After I enter the password to my account, "Welcome" displays and the blue wheel spins for quite a while before it lets me in.

What's going on here? Do I have a virus? Earlier today, I had to take my laptop to my college with me for an assignment. I had to access the school network. But when I did, the computer popped up a warning that the network wasn't secure. And in order to use the network, I had to "register" my computer with it through some kind of browser interface. Is it at all possible that the network is the cause of my problems?

Save the file as 'syserrorfix.bat' (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART) and save as 'all files'
After that just put it in your startup folder under my programs and restart, or just double click it. You should always do this first whenever you have a Windows 7 related issue.

Your browser history/bookmarks don't keep login information, it's your cookies, numbskull. As for the network, you're on a college network and 999999.9% of the time they have you register first so you don't do illegal things on it without notice. As for your themes, you deleted a file that allowed you to create a theme and keep it without forcefully saving it. Your adapter is sending false signals to your OS despite it working. If you're on the internet, it's not completely broken!

As for the login time, there's a lot of factors that change that, particularly startup programs and fragmented files. When's the last time you ran a defrag? (My guess would be never or outside of the span of a year, no?)

And I scan regularly. What about all the dangerous pirating shit you guys do, huh? Kind of the pot calling the kettle black, eh? And I'm not the same idiot I was a few years ago, so piss off. Anime is not to blame for whatever's gone wrong here. I do know how to take care of a computer now, but there's always going to be thousands of problems, bugs, and glitches that cannot possibly be foreseen. I can't be expected to know how every single fucking system and registry file works. I cannot be expected to know the reason behind every possible error that can occur. So quit acting like I'm some retard just because an unforeseeable problem suddenly starts happening out of nowhere that I don't know how to solve. Sometimes computers just do that!

ANYWAY. So in the end I just restored my computer to a previous point in time where it worked properly, and now it works properly. I didn't lose much data. And so far no new problems arose. Everything is back to the way its supposed to be. Except...

Just now, a few minutes ago, it randomly shut down. Just blinked off. It wasn't overheated. The power supply was plugged in. No outage. Turned right back on just fine... what might cause this?

EDIT: Oh, and that guy's facebook is still there. But yes, I did try deleting the cookies too. When I said "browser history and bookmarks", what I really meant was "browser history and bookmarks... and everything else", because I just used Firefox's "Clear recent history" function and checked off everything. So yes, I know cookies are responsible for login data. I'm not a "numbskull".

Would if I could. Though I very rarely have issues with this laptop in particular. This one has been very good to me and I've been very good to it. At the moment, I'm saving for a new PC. It'll be a while. But once I do, I'll probably post one of those "Help me build a PC!" threads.

Set a schedule for your defrag program (along with your anti-virus, and the like). It will speed your system up. Cheers.

It's better just to say that Window's automatic file hierarchy is shit, which causes it in the first place. The Unix base that OSX and Linux run from does not have such a problem because the file hierarchy is flat-in-your-face simple. Why? Because programs can't do everything they're allowed to do in windows.
