I really like how you did 2... 4 seems off to me for some reason, though, although it is still very nice.

1 is too busy and 3 doesn't look patterned enough... If the spacing was even across all the squares, however, it would probably look beautiful~!

OK, i know how to edit the controls but i don't understand the tabs quite well,

in the drops it says A B C Z Y R L and then two dashes

could someone please explain this?

Those button are as follows:

key pressed: key game thinks you pressed

that means, if you hit button 1, VX will say that you hit A. The dashes indicate an unassigned button.

this is a different end to my request, but um could someone make a pup version of this wolf please?

id do it but i'm frankly only good with removing shadows from images.
